Michaelle (Mickey) Valbrun-Pope

Michaelle has served children and families in various capacities for over 35 years. She is currently an educational consultant and leads a small nonprofit organization providing restorative services to families and communities. Her most recent positions include, CEO of The Valbrun Consulting Group and Senior Advisor, Whole Child Developer with New Teacher Center. Prior to these posts, she served as Broward County Public Schools’ Chief of Student Support Initiatives and Recovery, where she led the crisis response and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the Majory Stoneman Douglas shooting. Her work with organizations includes a focus on: systems change strategy development; diversity, cultural competency and equity; Social Emotional Learning; restorative and social justice practices; school crisis and recovery planning; and mind-body wellness skill development.
